The Wasco Brothers: Rap Sheets
Rick Hulett - Guitar, Pedal Steel, Vocals
Rick was born in Lubbock, TX where one of his first memories is of Roy Orbison pulling up next door in his Cadillac convertible to pick up his fiance for a date. Rick was a proud graduate of the Earl Swinford School of Guitar. Well ok, maybe not a graduate, but he got his picture on the wall which was as high as you could go at Mr. Swinford’s. In past times, he held the guitar chair for the Joe Ely Band and was featured prominently on Joe’s debut album. He also played with many other Texas bands such as Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Tommy Hancock and the Supernatural Family Band, The Lone Star Fogmen, and Butch Hancock. In addition to the Wasco Brothers, Rick also plays with Django's Cadillac, The Hapa Hillbillies, and the Bohemian Social Club and is a sought after guitar teacher and producer. You can find more info about him at rickhulett.com
Jeff Minnick - Drums, Vocals
Jeff hails from The Dalles, OR and plays drums with the Wasco Brothers. In the past he's played with the Paul Delay Band, Terry Robb and Junior Brown. Jeff writes many of the Wasco Brothers songs.
Larry Wyatt - Guitar, Vocals
A homegrown Oregon boy, Larry was raised on HEE-HAW and candy cigarettes. He wore out his parents Waylon Jennings’ records and got whupped for it, so he turned his attention to the Buck Owens catalog and wore vinyl ruts in those too. He got his first guitar at age 15 and launched himself headlong into a lifelong obsession with music. His early influences were Roy Nichols, Jimmy Bryant, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, and Led Zeppelin. By the time College came around he was hooked on the blues of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. He tried his best to emulate his guitar heroes with pawnshop prize gear and screamin' amplifiers.
After purchasing a Martin D-28 in the late 80's, he became more acoustic minded. When he heard Doc Watson flatpicking fiddle tunes, he became obsessed with Bluegrass, Newgrass, swing, and fingerstyle guitar. He slowly got rid of all his electric gear and became militantly unplugged in his approach.
After spending his college years playing music in skanky dives, he eventually won the Oregon State Bluegrass Flatpickin’ championship. He bought a new dobro with the prize money, and promptly quit playing contests. Instead he spends his time jammin’ with his pals in Hood River, sitting in with the Cascade Trio and Django's Cadillac, plays Hawaiian jazz ukulele with The Hapa Hillbillies, as well as his main duties playing bass, guitar, and steel guitar with the Wasco Bros.
Sid Ordoyne - Bass
Sid Ordoyne is known as an elusive bass player from New Orleans, LA. He's never been photgraphed in the wild or captivity, but we're sure he exists because of the fat bass lines coming from his corner of the stage.
